If you're heading to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center's Bennington campus on or after March 18, 2026, you'll notice a few changes to patient parking and access.
Starting on Wednesday, March 18, the front entrance to the Dartmouth Cancer Center Bennington will be closed. This closure will be in effect for the next year, allowing for the first phase of renovation and construction of the Hoyt-Hunter Center for Oncology Care.
During this time, cancer center patients will be using the P3 lot, across from SVMC's main entrance. Patients will access the cancer center through the Medical Office Building (MOB) South entrance.
Please see the updated campus map here.
Here's what will be different, starting on March 18:
- The roadway in front of the cancer center will be closed to traffic. Patients and visitors will still have access to CLR and the Medical Office Building (MOB) North, but will be directed to drive around the construction site.
- Cancer Center patients will park in P3 and use Medical Office Building (MOB) South to access the center. This parking area is across from our main entrance.
- Designated parking will be marked for cancer center patients in P3. This includes additional handicap accessible spaces.
- Signage will be posted throughout the exterior and interior of the building to guide patients.
The renovation and construction of the Hoyt-Hunter Center for Oncology Care at the Dartmouth Cancer Center Bennington is slated to be completed in January 2028.
